Igniting the Hope of Knowing – ALA Website Share

(Written by Katie Saunders) During a preconference session, reference was made to a TED Talk given by netTrekker developer Randy Wilhelm titled  “Igniting the Hope of Knowing” Among other things, Wilhelm says that children entering school quickly discover that the currency of learning changes from asking questions to having the right answers. He goes on to say that while we are constantly asking children (via testing) how intelligent they are, they would prefer to demonstrate how they are intelligent. Check out the video for even more great insights.
