Guys Read: ALA Website Share

(Written by Laura Guest) During the Booklist Youth Forum — Men at Work: Guy Writers Talk Guy Readers, a website that I hadn’t viewed in a while was shared. http://www.guysread.com/ is “a web-based literacy program for boys founded by author and First National Ambassador of Young People’s Literature, Jon Scieszka.” (from website) I showed this site to my fifth and sixth grade classes last spring and many male students that were not normally thrilled to be in library were very animated as they looked through the site.
